How does monetisation with a Premium account work?

With a Premium account you can set a price for each of your stories and offer them as exclusive content for registered readers. You decide which stories are free and which become part of your paid collection.

Your readers can buy access to those stories directly from our platform, and you will receive 40% of the net income, while the rest goes towards covering the platform's maintenance costs.

From that 40% the payment processing fees (2.9% + 0.3 USD) must be deducted.

What requirements are there to be accepted into the Premium programme?

We want to ensure a good experience for both authors and readers. That is why, to access the monetisation system with a Premium account, you need to meet the following criteria:

  • Have at least 2 published stories on the platform, with good writing and narrative coherence.
  • Have a verified account: a minimum identity verification is required to be able to process payments and protect users. You can update your information in your own profile.
  • Accept the terms of the monetisation programme, which include receiving payments via PayPal or another accepted gateway, and keeping at least one free story on your profile.

Once accepted, your account will be marked as a Premium writer and you will be able to start setting prices, receiving income and growing your community of loyal readers.

What requirements must my stories meet to be published as paid?

Even if we have accepted your Premium account request, we will review each and every story submitted: we must continue to guarantee the quality of the stories published, especially if readers are going to pay for them. Therefore, we do not guarantee that your stories will be published as paid if they do not strictly meet these points:

  • Stories must be of very high quality.
  • They must have a logical structure, appropriate language and a coherent style.
  • Spelling and grammar must be impeccable; they must be proofread before being submitted.
  • They must be original to the author, not copies of other existing stories.
  • Microfiction is not accepted: they must have at least 4000 words.
  • They must strictly comply with the publishing guidelines.

Other considerations to keep in mind:

  • In a series, at least the first 2 chapters must be free.
  • If a later chapter is published for free, all previous chapters will automatically be published for free as well.
  • The minimum price per paid story is 1.95 USD.
  • If a story does not meet all of the above conditions, it will be published for free.

What additional benefits do I get as a Premium writer?

In addition to the possibility of earning money directly from your stories, you will also get:

  • Advanced reading, click and sales statistics.
  • Access to our private support channel for authors.
  • The possibility of being included in our promotional campaigns and featured newsletters.
  • More visibility for your stories in an exclusive section.

How and when will I receive my commissions?

We set a minimum sales amount that the Premium writer must accumulate in order to process the payment of commissions. This minimum amount is 100.00 USD (although you can increase it from your account). Once this minimum amount is exceeded, we will process your payment.

You can receive your payments through any of these options:

  • Bank transfer, providing your account number.
  • PayPal.
  • Revolut.
  • Wise.

Once the minimum amount is exceeded, payments are made once a month, between the 1st and 5th of each month.

Participation in the Premium programme implies acceptance of these conditions and of the site's general Terms and Conditions. relatos.cam reserves the right to modify these conditions and to revoke access to the programme in the event of a breach.
